Getting rid of pc for laptop, is it worth it?

  • I have a custom PC my brother build for me around 2014 when I was in college. Without being near the pc the specs are, to the best of my memory...: MSI twin frozr ii 5830 AMD Fx 8350 8gb ram 1tb HDD Asus a97 mobo Cheap asus 24ish inch monitor

At the time I got it, could play BF4 and BF3 in high settings at a decent frame rate and It was enjoyable.

I don’t play a ton of games anymore. The desktop is taking up more space in my tiny apartment than I’d like. I also go on frequent work trips for a few weeks at a time and would like some more entertainment while I’m out so it would be nice to game during those trips. Because of this I’m thinking of trying to get rid of the desktop, and pick up a laptop instead. At Costco today I saw what appeared to be a good deal on a Lenovo Legion Y545. To me it would appear to have relatively new hardware seeing as it has GTX 1660TI and 9th gen i7 processor. Would it be reasonable to expect this computer to last several years? Is it worth getting rid of my PC to purchase? What kind of set backs could I expect to encounter.
